Silicon Couloir’s 8th Annual Pitch Day will be held on Thursday, September 5th from 4 - 7 PM at the Center for the Arts in Jackson, WY. Pitch Day is a chance to learn about the latest up-and-coming companies in the Teton region.
The applicant pool this year was the strongest in the event’s history, with 13 passionate entrepreneurs vying for six spaces. After much thought and deliberation from the Selection Committee, Silicon Couloir is proud to announce a diverse and compelling group of finalists.
This year our presenters are:
Authentag: A blockchain technology company working with the pharmaceutical industry to track drugs from production to sales, thus reducing the risk of counterfeit products and potentially reducing costs through disruption of the supply chain.
Buddy Pegs Media: A diverse media company that celebrates bicycling and its social impact through books, podcasts, local classes, regional events, and an online community.
Franco Snowshapes: A hardgoods company building the finest custom snowboards through a unique, personal and tailored experience.
Mountainist: An online company that rents curated outdoor action sports apparel and protective gear to women.
Powwater: A social impact company that sells high-end water bottles and cups with 50% of profits directed to clean water projects around the globe.
Visably: A technology company created to improve brand performance and marketing by measuring and tracking brand visibility on the critical first page of online search results.
“The Pitch Day finalists this year are an incredible array of local talent and ambition - from social benefit companies Buddy Pegs and Powwater to outdoors-oriented companies Mountainist and Franco Snowshapes which have grown out of the ethos of Jackson Hole, and finally on to Visibly and Authentag, companies that literally have the opportunity to disrupt entire worldwide industries,” said Gary Trauner, Executive Director of Silicon Couloir. “They, along with the other seven applicants, are a testament to the vibrant culture of entrepreneurism and risk-taking in this remarkable and creative place we call home.”
We are pleased to announce the prizes for this year’s winning presenters.
Panelist Choice Award: $5,000
This award is given to the company that our experienced entrepreneur judges determine has (1) the most compelling business idea, (2) the best chance for business success, (3) the highest likelihood of getting funded, and (4) the strongest presentation.
Audience Choice Award: $2500
This award is given to the company who “wows” the audience with their presentation and company.
Bob Arndt Community Caretaker Award: Invitation to join the TEAMS Program
In its second year, the Bob Arndt Community Caretaker Award is presented to that entrepreneur or venture whose person/team and company best embodies the core values and mission of Silicon Couloir, which is to align entrepreneurship with community vision to promote a diverse economy and healthy environment for current and future generations. Just as Bob lived his life guided by the value of community caretaking, this company will exemplify growing a culture of stewardship, leadership, participation, collaboration, and citizenship that inspires and enriches our tight-knit, welcoming mountain town. The winner will have the opportunity to participate in TEAMS, our highly successful mentoring program.
Pitch Day has many impacts on our entrepreneurial community. Pitch Day connects entrepreneurs in our community with opportunities to raise capital by offering a platform to gain experience and valuable feedback. Pitch Day inspires others in the audience to begin their own journey. Additionally, our community becomes stronger when more experienced members of our entrepreneurial community contribute their knowledge to help others along their entrepreneurial path.
Pitch Day is free to attend and open to the public. Company presentations will be followed by a reception in the lobby.
